Glass is a popular tree ornament, recalling special people or memories. When buying new glass ornaments, recycled glass is your best bet. You could also reuse and festively decorate your old incandescent light bulbs. (Hopefully you have already replaced them with CFLs).
When you’re ready to say goodbye to your glass ornaments, check if your local recyclers accept painted glass. The decorative additions on your ornaments like glitter or plastic sequins could cause problems with recycling. Consider packing carefully and donating unwanted ornaments to a local charity or Goodwill. Recycling is always good for the environment.
