Conservation recommendation for transportation
#30: Drive a fuel-efficient vehicle.
Forty percent of all vehicles driven on U.S. roads are fuel-inefficient SUVs and light trucks. In one year, an average SUV will consume 750 gallons of fuel and produce 15,000 lbs of CO2. Trading it in for a hybrid sedan will save 450 gallons of gas, $1600, and 9,000 lbs of CO2 each year.
This recommendation has been achieved by 34 people and is being attempted by 31.
Help me do this!
You probably can’t just get a new car at the drop of a hat. But take the environment into account the next time you buy a car (think of gas prices too), and give your friends a nudge if they’re looking for a car.
