As Brighter Planet's staff scientist, I'm responsible for the data and calculations that underlie our products and services. I research emissions and energy use, write white papers summarizing the findings, identify potential business applications, and work with our development team to build products like carbon middleware and our personal footprint calculator. I also monitor the performance of our carbon offset projects and work with the project selection committee to evaluate new ones.

Before joining Brighter Planet in the spring of 2008, I upgraded Clean Air-Cool Planet's Campus Carbon Calculator, the leading emissions inventory tool for colleges and universities. I also helped organize a national grassroots day of climate action.
